WINE OF THE WEEK:
Here we go again! Another wine that hits the quality-to-price sweet spot, and then some!
The 2016 Villa Trasqua Chianti Classico hails from a beautiful piece of Tuscan land that has been producing wine grapes for 1000 – yes, that’s 1000 with 3 zeros – years.
Speaking of years, 2016 was a fantastic one in Tuscany, and you can taste the quality of the vintage in this certified organic wine, which scored 92 points from James Suckling.
The Villa Trasqua offers aromas and flavors of cherry, loamy earth, cola and vanilla, along with hints of flowers and walnuts. The structure is terrific, with grippy tannins in balance with the acidity through the dry finish. A wonderful food wine, this also drinks pretty nicely on its own.
As for the price, we see this online for 20 bucks and up.
But here at NCWC it’s yours for just 12.97, while it lasts. You can even taste it if you like. Come get it!
TASTINGS ARE BACK!
How cool is this! In addition to by-the-glass options, we once again are offering tastings in the wine bar!
Of course, we’re still outside only for now. But there’s plenty of space out there!
