WINE OF THE MONTH:
The judges at Decanter Magazine’s 2020 World Wine Awards evaluated more than 8,500 red wines. Of the 452 Bordeaux among them, only five earned scores of 97 points or above… and only one of those chart-toppers made it to the US.
And we were so fortunate to be able to grab some of that wine and make it your WINE OF THE MONTH!
It’s the 2019 Chateau Bourdieu Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux, 87% Merlot and the rest Cab and Cab Franc. This is Decanter’s 97 point note:
“Flamboyant and deep, with ample, lush and fresh forest fruits, bramble and cassis, with cascading sweet spice swiftly following. A super, brooding wine which will shine brighter with time. 97 points.”
Top scoring Bordeaux can be incredibly expensive, but our regular price on this wine is just 19.97.
It gets better. Your WOM price – good throughout April, or as long as the wine lasts – is just 14.97/bottle.
If you want, we’ll even let you try it before you buy it!

WINE OF THE WEEK:
Here we go again! Another wine that hits the quality-to-price sweet spot, and then some!
The 2016 Villa Trasqua Chianti Classico hails from a beautiful piece of Tuscan land that has been producing wine grapes for 1000 – yes, that’s 1000 with 3 zeros – years.
Speaking of years, 2016 was a fantastic one in Tuscany, and you can taste the quality of the vintage in this certified organic wine, which scored 92 points from James Suckling.
The Villa Trasqua offers aromas and flavors of cherry, loamy earth, cola and vanilla, along with hints of flowers and walnuts. The structure is terrific, with grippy tannins in balance with the acidity through the dry finish. A wonderful food wine, this also drinks pretty nicely on its own.
As for the price, we see this online for 20 bucks and up.
But here at NCWC it’s yours for just 12.97, while it lasts. You can even taste it if you like. Come get it!
