WINE OF THE WEEK:
Amazing spring days, warm weather, clear skies…
sounds like Rose time to me!
(if you’re a “rather be dead than drink anything but red”
kind of person, your eyes are glazing over already. so
skip to the bottom and check out Friday’s Event, which
will definitely get your blood pumping)
As in dry Rose. Clean, crisp, dry, lighter in body, and
altogether delightful on a warm day.
This week’s WOW is an exceptional example. The
2015 Domaine Sarragousse Rose from Provence,
south of France, where everybody drinks Rose pretty
much all spring and summer long.
Here’s my tasting note from when we first tried it:
“A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault. Classic pale color,
with nice aromas of strawberry, orange crème, red plum.
Very nice on the palate, dry but tasty, light red fruit and
some citrus accents, crisp and light and speaking of
summer on the Riviera.”
Terrific stuff, and just 15.97/bottle. Keep reading for
a great way to taste it for yourself!
WINESDAY FLIGHT:
With a shop full of great wines, it can be tough to
choose which three to include in a flight. For this
Wednesday, 4/20, I let the wines decide for me.
I simply walked the shop, stopping to grab the
three wines that spoke the loudest, that said, “Hey,
Man, people need to taste me, discover me,
and savor me.”
So here it is. Ten bucks this Wednesday for
a half glass each of these eager beavers:
Domaine Sarragousse Rose 2015, 15.97
-described above
Errazuriz Max Reserva Carmenere 2011, 15.97
-black fruit framed by spice notes
William Hill Napa Valley Bench Blend 2013, 32.97
-full and rich, with blackberry and boysenberry flavors
This Wednesday only, any time from 4-9 pm!
