WINE OF THE WEEK:
One night as Frank Vezer was sharing some of his family’s wine with friends and
musicians, a buddy raised his glass and adopted a serious tone as he said, “Frank,
I owe you and your family the deepest debt of gratitude.”
Puzzled and curious, Frank asked why.
“Frank, if it wasn’t for this delicious wine, I would not have my son today.”
A split-second for the implication to register, and the room exploded with laughter.
After many glasses of wine that evening, with hours of great music and lots of laughter, the name “Baby Maker” was, well, born!
The Vezer Family “Baby Maker” Red is a blend – roughly 50-50 – of Zinfandel
and Petite Sirah. Amusingly enough, it sports a yellow “Caution” sign on the
label. But what’s inside isn’t so much funny as delicious.
Smelling and tasting it will make you think of blueberry pie a la mode, with a
side helping of peaches, plus additional notes of black cherry and plum.
The wine is super tasty, fun, and most definitely a conversation starter. Perhaps
a starter of other things as well!
This wine is $46/bottle at the winery. But we have it for you at twenty bucks off,
which means you get it for 25.97.
Come give it a try. Who knows what may ensue? 😉
