WINE OF THE WEEK:
Dry Rose has become a huge phenomenon here in the U.S., and we have
been a big driver of that growth right here in North County.
We’ve done so by recommending wines like this week’s WOW, the 2017
Aix Rose from the Provence region in southern France. This wine received
a stellar 90 point score from Wine Enthusiast.
It’s a blend of 60% Grenache and 20% each Syrah and Cinsault. It is so
delightful, just crisp enough, but with an appealingly soft quality, offering
aromas and flavors of orange creme, melon, peach, and blood orange.
All in all, a tasty, refreshing accompaniment to summer!
We have this wine available now at 15.97/bottle. Cheers!
WINESDAY SPECIAL!
How ’bout another Bartender’s Special this Wednesday!
This is when we pick one very special bottle of wine, open it up, and offer
it at absurdly low by-the-glass prices.
This week, the 2009 La Rioja Alta Rioja Gran Reserva “904.” This
exceptional wine received a 95 point score from Wine Advocate:
The wine has enough age to be well “developed but it keeps some fruit character,
along with plenty of spices and balsamic aromas. The palate is polished, with clean,
focused flavors and a long, spicy and tasty finish.”
A fantastic wine for sure, and 62.97/bottle, which means if you can even
find it by-the-glass, it would be at least $30-$40.
But this Wednesday we’re pouring this beauty at just $8/half glass.
Come, taste, savor. Available any time from 5-9.
