BREAKING NEWS!
Dateline: San Marcos
In a shocking development to the story
first broken here on April First, the Tobin
Brothers have reclaimed ownership of
North County Wine Company from the
inter-galactic corporation Andromeda
Hospitality Group.
The initial story provoked widespread
panic and desperation. Jim Tobin states
his hopes that things can now return
to something approaching normal.
“Normal is a relative term when it comes
to this place, but I’m confident that people
will now be able to relax a bit.”
Bill Tobin adds, “It seemed like a good idea at
the time, but then we realized there were
some serious language barriers. And when
the little green men started showing up,
well, customers were put off.”
Jim said it was quite a battle, requiring
courtrooms across the universe, as well as
“the inspired intervention of Inter-Galactic
President Zaphod Beeblebrox.”
When reached for comment, AHG spokesman
Lirpa Sloof would only mutter, “lohgfcbz34tvcnja!”
The Tobin Brothers are thrilled to be back
in the saddle at NCWC. Come give them
a warm welcome back!
WINE OF THE WEEK:
So there’s this winemaker named Runquist.
Jeff Runquist.
Puts a big capital “R” on his labels.
Ridiculously popular, especially his Syrah.
You probably know all that already.
HERE is where it gets interesting.
Jeff just changed distributors, and the old
distributor found itself stuck with a few
cases of the new 2012 Syrah.
So they closed ’em out. To us.
Which means we’re offering this perfectly
good, tasty, Jeff Runquist Syrah – regular
price $24.97 – for just $19.97/bottle.
This price is good only for a very limited
time, with limited quantities. Because
when we have to re-order from the new
distributor, it will be back to the higher price.
Here are Jeff’s words:
“Plums, red currants and black cherry scents
identify this wine as a ‘New World’ Syrah.
Caramel and smoke nuances accent succulent
juicy flavors of red and black fruits as well as
toasted oak. There is enough tannin present to
provide the wine with a rich full texture and remain
soft and supple which makes for a long satisfying finish.”
Take advantage of this limited opportunity!
