The date is Saturday, June 22, and the dinner begins at 6 pm.  It will be a five

course meal expertly prepared by Chef Erin, and each course is paired with

a wine from Joe Wagner’s Copper Cane portfolio.

The charming and extremely knowledgeable Bruce Rock will be on hand to

present and discuss the wines, and Chef Erin will cap the evening with one

of her creative and delicious desserts.

WINE OF THE WEEK!

Last week we told you about Gustavo Gonzalez and Mira Winery, mentioning just a
few highlights of his illustrious career as a winemaker.

Well, we scored another deal, in addition to that Pinot Noir we talked about last week.

The 2013 Mira Cabernet Sauvignon is classic Napa Cab from the Stags Leap District.

Spice filled aromas that include cinnamon, violets and French vanilla dazzle the nose as flavors of sweet cacao, fresh blackberries and anise tantalize the palate. Plums, coffee bean and velvety tannins accompany the long, persistent, and bright finish.

Did I mention we got a deal? At the winery it sells for $95. But right here, right now,
at NCWC it is just 29.97/bottle.

CAYMUS NEW VINTAGE!

Caymus Napa Cabernet is always one of the most sought-after reds in our shop.
It’s not at all unusual for it to run out before the next vintage is released, and that
happened again this year. We were out for about a month and a half.

But the new vintage is here! It’s the 2017, and we were able to get some in the full
one liter bottle, which we have at 99.97 in the shop.

AND… to celebrate the new release, we’re going to open bottles this midweek
and offer glasses at crazy low prices. This Tuesday-Thursday, you get a half glass
of 2017 Caymus for just ten bucks. Come check it out! 🙂

FINALLY, a quick heads up about our weekend flight. This Friday and Saturday
we’ve got a great $15 flight of 90+ point wines, including our WOW, the 2013
Mira Cabernet.
