WINE OF THE WEEK!
It feels a little weird calling out this
particular WOW, because so many
people know about it already. In fact,
it’s one of our best selling Chardonnays.
But for those of you who don’t know,
the Creme de Lys provides lush flavors
of tropical fruit, baked apple and citrus.
Sur lie aging gives it its soft, creamy
style. Nine months spent primarily in
French oak adds hints of vanilla and
creme brulee.
We just received the new vintage, 2010,
and it’s still just $8.97 every day.
That means no membership card, no
quantity needed, no having to wait for
a sale.
Just enjoy!
WEDNESDAY JULY 31:
This Winesday marks the very last day
of July, which means we’re about to start
a new month. In the spirit of “new,” then,
and in keeping with the theme for Friday’s
tasting event…
Your Winesday Flight consists of three
NEW VINTAGES of wines that have been
customer favorites for quite some time.
As usual, you get a half glass each for
just ten bucks.
Creme de Lys Chardonnay 2012, $8.97
-described above
Hilary Goldschmidt Oakville Cabernet 2010, $24.97
-Starting with a deep garnet color and aromas
of blackberries and pepper, this brand-new
release is a Cab lover’s wallet-friendly delight.
Rich and round, with wonderful texture, the bright,
black fruits are nicely seasoned and linger on
the finish. Being a brand-new bottling, this is a
wine that is pleasing now, but give it another
couple of years and it’ll make you feel like you
were tremendously smart when you invested.
Frank Family Zinfandel 2010, $29.97
-91 points Wine Spectator:
“Ripe and focused, with boysenberry and
toffee aromas, offering layered huckleberry,
pepper and fresh sage flavors. The tannins
sneak in on the finish.”
FUN NEW WINES THIS FRIDAY, 8/2!
I love this quote:
“Never be afraid to try something new.
Remember, amateurs built an ark.
Professionals built the Titanic.”
Trying new wines, of course, is
a big part of what we’re all about
here at NCWC.
We are always sampling new juice, and
when we get excited about something,
we bring it in so you can get excited too!
Which brings us to this Friday, August 2.
Any time from 4-10 you can try 7 new wines,
plus snacks, and it’s just ten bucks.
