WINE OF THE WEEK:
Couple of crazy close-outs for you this week.
First is a 91 point Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the 2011
“Les Olivets” from Roger Sabon. 91 points
Wine Spectator:
“Lovely cedar, roasted vanilla bean, black tea and
steeped plum and blackberry fruit flavors are well-melded,
with good underlying structure. Fine-grained tannins
carry the finish. Drink now through 2025.”
Regular price in our shop would be 39.97 (on wine.com
we see it at 56.99). But right now we have extremely
limited quantities for just 19.97. Really. 19.97.
Second is the 2010 Chateau Pesquie Quintessence,
a Ventoux that is 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache.
90 points Wine Spectator:
“A darkly toasted style, with anise and mocha leading
the way for a sold core of crushed plum and boysenberry
fruit. A singed apple wood note drives the finish.”
Regular 19.97, now 9.97. Very, very limited.
These are both Old World wines – very French, complex
and earthy. And incredible values.
Get ’em while they last!
