WINE OF THE WEEK:
One of our most popular under-$20 reds is the Luke Cabernet from Washington’s Wahluke Slope appellation.
We’ve carried several vintages of this wine, and in fact the 2017 was a WOW in the not-too-distant past. Heck, the 2016 probably was too. It’s been quite consistent!
Now we’re on the 2018, which received impressive 92 point scores from both Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, which had this to say:
“Aromas of fresh raspberry, bittersweet chocolate and dried herb pop on the nose. The palate is ripe, delicious, fruit filled and lip-smacking, displaying a lot of density, intensity and texture. Give this beauty a short decant if drinking in the near term.”

Our next-to-last 2021 Wine Dinner with Chef Erin is Thursday, Sep 30.
The wines this time all come from the much-heralded Nick Goldschmidt of Goldschmidt Vineyards. We will have a special guest from the winery here to present the wines, of course, and we are looking forward to another fantastic time!
