WINE OF THE WEEK:

Given our surface-of-the-sun temperatures
this week, our WOW just has to be a
cooling, soothing, refreshing, lip-smacking
thirst-quencher.

The new vintage (2013) of Quinta da
Aveleda Vinho Verde is all that, having
received a 91 point score from Wine & Spirits:

“A textbook Vinho Verde with plenty of acidity
tied to its grapefruit flavors, this will brighten
any summer party.”

If you’re looking for a poolside, picnic or patio
sipper, this wine never disappoints.

Especially since it’s just $8.97 per bottle.

WEDNESDAY FLIGHT:

Keeping with the theme of finding ways to
help you stay cool, we’re offering a great
beer flight option this Wednesday, 9/17:

For just $5 you get any two 12 oz. beers
off the bar menu, excluding the pricy
stuff like Chimay, Ommegang, and Yeti.

Pretty awesome, we know.

If you’d rather stick with wine, though,
that’s no problem. Any three different
half glasses of wine off the bar menu
are yours to enjoy for just $10.

BATTLE OF THE BROTHERS THIS FRIDAY!

It is time for the THIRD ANNUAL BRO-DOWN!!!

The day: Friday, September 19th
The time: any time from 4-10 pm
Cost: $20

The WHAT is the annual grudge match between
Jim and Bill, each trying to prove who
picks the best wines.

Each brother picks 4 wines, one each in
the categories of white wine, blend,
import, and Cabernet.

Then we pair them off, one against the
other, without telling you which brother
picked what wine.

You pick your favorite in each category,
and your favorite overall. We tally
all the votes, and a CHAMPION IS CROWNED!

The first two years, Jim kicked his big
brother’s butt. And Bill is NOT HAPPY
about it!

We’re pulling out all the stops, because
we both want to win.

So come taste, and determine which brother
reigns supreme in 2014!!!
