WINE OF THE WEEK:
Ever bought Cristal Champagne?
If so, then you probably paid about
$200 for the Brut, $300-$400 for
the Brut Rose.
That’s per bottle.
If you’re like most of us, though, you
probably prefer wine prices that DON’T
resemble car payments. That’s where
we come in.
Your WOW this Easter week is the
2009 Raventos i Blanc de Nit Brut
Rose, which scored a fantastic
93 points from the Wine Advocate:
“It has an almost hypnotic, perfect pale hue
that is worth the price alone! The nose is very
subtle and very pretty with traces of rosewater
and Morello cherries, all beautifully defined and
drawing you in. The palate is crisp and tense
on the entry: a minimalist approach that is based
on freshness and poise rather than delivering fruit
intensity. It is a delicate, very pretty, harmonious
Cava rose that is sensual and alluring. Who needs
Champagne when Cava can be as good as this?”
This amazing Bubbly is just $19.97 at NCWC.

BUBBLY TASTING THIS WINESDAY!
“Here’s to Champagne, the drink divine
That makes us forget all our troubles;
It begins as a bottle of wine
That gets filled with the magic of bubbles!”
Don’t know who came up with that,
but they got it right. Divine and
magic are certainly accurate descriptors,
and that bit about forgetting troubles
is right on as well.
Sir Winston Churchill certainly understood:
“In success you deserve it, and
in defeat you need it.”
It also works to celebrate the arrival
of spring and the Easter holiday. Or
even just the arrival of Wednesday.
Whatever the reason, this Wednesday,
March 27th, we invite you to enjoy a
Bubbly tasting, any time from 5-9 pm.
Cost is just $10 for a taste of these:
Raventos i Blanc de Nit Brut Rose, $19.97
-93 points Wine Advocate
Hubert Meyer Cremant d’Alsace Brut, $15.97
-88 points Jim Tobin
Gruet Brut Rose, $16.97
-88 points Jim Tobin
Scharffenberger Brut, $18.97
-90 points Wine Enthusiast
Mark Twain also had it figured out:
“Too much of anything is bad, but too
much Champagnge is just right.”
Let us pour you some bubbles this Wednesday.
Who knows? If we put our glasses -and our
heads – together, maybe we can come up with
some interesting quotes of our own!
Have a wonderful week. We look forward
to serving you, any way we can!!
