FRIDAY TASTING EVENT:
With Easter literally right around
the corner, we thought it would be
an egg-celent idea to present you
with an opportunity to taste a basketful
of egg-ceptional Easter wines!
(I’ll apologize right now for my
childish fondness for silly holiday
word-play. Not sayin’ I’ll stop, mind
you. Because, you know, I am what I am.)
This is a $15 event, including
hors d’ouevres. 4-9:30 pm.
We’ve taken egg-stra special care to
select wines that will hop across
your palate in harmony with your
holiday feast. Here’s your basketful
of goodies:
Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne, $44.97
-92 points Wine Spectator
Creme de Lys Chardonnay 2011, $8.97
Pessagno Pinot Noir 2009, $13.97
-91 points Wine Enthusiast
Arger-Martucci Pinot Noir 2005, $24.97
-90 points Tobins
JAQK Cellars Black Clover Merlot 2007, $29.97
-90 points Tobins
Beckmen Syrah 2010, $19.97
-91 points Jim Tobin
Leal Godsend 2006, $59.97
-92 points Tobins
I’ll forgo the puns for a moment and
simply state that this is a tremendous
list; over $200 worth of bottles, and
truly wonderful juice.
In this case, then, you should put all
your eggs in one basket and get your
floppy-eared self on down here!
(we’ll save a chocolate egg for you, too!)
WINE OF THE WEEK:
In addition to the incredible
Raventos Brut Rose Cava we
mentioned Tuesday – and poured
Wednesday…
We offer the 2010 Van Ruiten Old Vine
Zinfandel as your Wine of the Week.
It’s one very tasty bottle of wine for $13.97.
Here are the winery’s words:
“This fruit was hand selected from the first
vineyard John Van Ruiten planted over 50
years ago and is among the family’s most
prized grapes. Our 2010 Old Vine Zinfandel
is packed full of blackberry, cherry and blueberry
jam with barrel flavors contributing aromas of
coffee, cedar, and finishing with anise.”
But hey, don’t take their word for it.
Come taste for yourself!
