FRIDAY 4/19/13:
You’re busy. We know you’re busy.
Work, family, home, chores, errands…
And emails. Lordy, oh lordy, all
those emails.
But you’re reading this one, aren’t you?
Which means you either like wine,
or you like us. (hopefully both!)
But still. We know you can’t make every
single event we put on. We miss you when
you’re not here, but we get it. Life is
busy, there’s lots going on, yadda yadda.
My point? You can’t make ’em all. But if
you’re going to make one event this month,
make it this one:
Friday, April 19th, any time from 4-10.
$15, including appetizers.
Why this one? Well, every so often in our
relentless pursuit of exceptional wines, we
stumble upon a winery that blows us away.
The winery in this case is Powell Mountain
Vineyards of Paso Robles, and the winemaker
is Bill Powell.
Bill spent years studying viticulture and
winemaking right here in North County,
before relocating to Paso Robles with his
wife Kim, and we are proud both to
welcome him and present the 2010 vintage
of these wines:
Powell Mountain Viognier, $25.97
Powell Mountain Grenache, $21.97
Powell Mountain Mourvedre, $31.97
Powell Mountain Syrah, $27.97
Powell Mountain Ascent, $27.97
Powell Mountain Summit, $19.97
Powell Mountain Zinfandel, $27.97
We’re confident you’ll agree that these
wines are amazing, and Bill’s pretty cool, too.
(p.s. – ask him what he did before this!)
Know something else? While he practiced
small scale home winemaking for years,
this is his very first commercial vintage.
It’s tough to predict the future, but we
will not be the least bit surprised if
this winery becomes a critical and popular
success.
And you can say you were there at the start!
Come meet Bill and taste his wines.
You will understand what we’re talking about.
HELP US SPREAD THE WORD!:
Only a few months from our third anniversary,
which means two and two-thirds years of
Great Wines at Great Prices, and we STILL
hear it:
Folks will be in the wine bar, enjoying a
glass or a taste, and talking about how much
they love wine, and about the wines they buy
at Bevmo, or Costco, or Trader Joe’s, or
wherever…
As if a shop full of 700 wines at the best
prices in town isn’t staring them right in
the face!
And we still see it – the shocked looks
on peoples faces when they walk through
the shop for the first time, then turn to
us and say, “Your prices are REALLY good!”
Well, yeah. Duh. What have we been
saying – and DOING – since we took over
this business?
So here’s where I beg and plead. Since
there are SO MANY folks who haven’t
figured us out yet, we would sure appreciate
it if you can give us a shout out, in whatever
way you do that.
Thank you so much for your support,
and for believing in us!!!
