The year “Marches” on, and your wines await you!
Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to taste all 4 Club wines for FREE,
falls on Wednesday the 6th, any time from 5-9.
The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Vince Cullinan. Congratulations!
All right, let’s take a look at the vino, Silver Level first.
The 2016 Highway 12 Merlot is from Sonoma County. This lush and inviting wine displays layers of black cherry, blueberry and plum, underscored by vanilla and mocha. On the palate, balanced acidity adds structure and elegance, while sturdy tannins carry the wine to a fruitful, concentrated and lengthy finish.
And how’s THIS for a fascinating treat! The 2016 Massaya Le Colombier hails from
Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley, and it’s a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Tempranillo.
This is a powerful and spicy blend, well structured yet easy-drinking, with raspberry and cherry notes and a touch of dusty minerality.
Let’s look at the Gold Level wines. The 2016 Quilt is a Napa Cabernet from Joe
Wagner, son of the Caymus winemaker, and producer of Belle Glos Pinots, among
others. 90 points Wine Spectator:
“Bright and lively, with a light bramble note weaving in among the raspberry, plum and blackberry compote flavors as toast and licorice hints check in. The brambly element keeps this energetic through the finish.”
Finally, we give you the 2015 Altocedro Reserve Malbec from Argentina, 93 points
and Editor’s Choice from Wine Enthusiast:
“Forward cassis aromas ride alongside oak and licorice tones. The full palate is dense in flavors of blackberry, molasses, chocolate and coffee, followed by a mocha explosion on the finish. Enjoy through 2027.”
Thank you as always for your support, we so appreciate you! Hope to see you
soon!
