Wow, October already. We’ve got great wines lined up for you, and we’ll discuss them in a minute. First, the usual housekeeping.
The monthly free bottle winner is Tony Messina. Congrats!
Your STOCK-UP DAYS this month are Saturday and Sunday, the 16th and 17th. Take advantage of your discount!
All four Club wines will be available to taste Tues-Thurs, October 5-7. This tasting is FREE for you and your spouse, or a friend.
Now for a word about those Club wines, Silver first. The 2018 Rosario Vera Rioja is 100% Tempranillo, 90 points Vinous:
“Oak-spiced red and blue fruits, candied rose, vanilla and a bit of woodsmoke show on the nose. On the palate, lively cherry and mulberry flavors deepen and spread out, with dusty tannins providing grip through the long, focused finish.”
The 2018 Marcelo Pelleriti Cabernet Franc hails from Argentina’s Uco Valley and scored 95 points from James Suckling:
“A powerful, rich red with blackberry, tobacco and wet earth aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied, dense and structured, showing focus and intensity.”
On to Gold Level, starting with the 2019 Failla Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, 93 points Wine Enthusiast and #51 in their 2020 Top 100:
“You’ll have to search far and wide to find a W.V. Pinot this good at this price. It offers a well-integrated mix of flavors, like blackberry, black cherry, mocha, coffee and hazelnut. With ripe, focused tannins, the wine is a sheer joy to drink.”
Finally, we give you the 2017 Cass Backbone Syrah from Paso Robles:
Savory aromas of paprika, root beer, clove and tobacco accent ripe notes of plum and black cherry. On the palate it’s layered and concentrated, with deep mineral complexities framing flavors of blueberry, boysenberry, pepper, spice and tea.
THANK YOU so much for being a wonderful part of our journey of wine, fun and friends. Cheers to you, and happy October!
