Wine Club Newsletter 12/2019

December is here, and so are your wines! Before we get to those specifics, take
a quick look at these few necessary details.

Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to taste all 4 Club wines for FREE,
falls on Tuesday the 3rd, any time from 5-9.

All right, here are the Silver Level wines:

The 2017 Andrew Rich “Little Table” Red is from Washington’s Columbia Valley.
A blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Grenache, it’s juicy up front with flavors of
black cherry, plum, blackberry, and blueberry, drying on the finish to reveal notes
of oak, chocolate, spice and toast. It’s delicious, with solid structure.

The 2017 Cima Collina Merlot-Cabernet hails from the Heller Vineyard in
Carmel Valley. This also is packed with dark fruit notes like blackcurrant and
blackberry, decorated with moderately toasty oak, spice, and subtle dried herbs.
This wine sports big tannic structure and will definitely benefit from additional
bottle age, and of course decanting is a must.

Now for the Gold Level wines. You’re in for a serious treat with both of these.

First up is the 2017 Vine Cliff Cabernet from Napa Valley. This is classic Napa
Cab fo sho, with fantastic structure for the rich, ripe notes of blackberry and
cassis, plus suggestions of cedar, graphite, espresso and chocolate. Terrific now,
this will cellar if you wish for 10-15 years, no problem.

Finally, we offer the 2016 “Protagonist” Cabernet from J. Bookwalter of Columbia
Valley. It combines power and grace, with a deeply structured core wrapped in expressive blackberry, licorice and smoked pepper flavors. It is a rich, hedonistic, high octane wine that also can be enjoyed for years to come.

We believe these wines will be a fine pairing with any and all holiday events and
