February has arrived, and so have your Club wines! Tasting notes coming up in a sec; here’s a bit of info first.
The monthly free bottle winner is Maggie McNicholas. Congrats!
Your STOCK-UP DAYS for February are Saturday and Sunday, the 20th and 21st. Hope to see you then!
Now for the wines, and we’ll talk about the Silver Level first. The 2019 Raeburn Pinot Noir is from the Russian River Valley.
Stunning flavors of lush blueberry, raspberry and black cherry flow above undertones of vanilla, baking spice and hazelnut. The finish is long and graceful.
Silver #2 is the 2018 Tapiz Malbec from Uco Valley, Argentina. 93 points James Suckling and 90 points Wine Advocate.
This floral and perfumed Malbec is juicy and fresh, with blackberry, spice and oak notes on a soft mouthfeel.
Gold Level now. The 2017 Poggio Valente Toscana is 100% Sangiovese, 94 points Wine Advocate.
It’s a pure expression of Sangiovese that punches above its weight with Brunello-like intensity. Blackberry and black cherry fruit, plus herbs and a nice loamy earth character give this serious complexity.
Then we have the 2018 Melville Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills, 94 points Jeb Dunnuck.
“A great bouquet of ripe cherry and raspberry is intermixed with beautiful violet floral notes. Showing the purity and elegance of the vintage, it has a silky texture and a great finish. As usual, it’s a screaming value.”
THANK YOU, and cheers to you and yours!
