WINE CLUB TASTING NOTES:
Beginning with the Silver Level, the 2019 Evodia Garnacha is from Spain’s Calatayud region. 93 points Jeb Dunnuck.
Kirsch, blackberry, acacia flower, violet and sandalwood notes lead to a seamless, well-layered palate with fine tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish.
Next is the 2019 Zuccardi Q Cabernet Franc from Argentina’s Mendoza region. 92 points Wine Advocate.
This is spicy, peppery, floral and herbal, with chalky tannins gripping cherry and black cherry flavors.
Now for Gold Level. The 2019 Wrath Pinot Noir 4/777 is from Monterey. 93 points Wine Enthusiast.
Named after the clones used to make it, this shows off black cherry and florest floor aromas, while a rich, seamless intensity defines the palate, with layers of cherry, black raspberry and allspice. All elements lead to a long, structured finish.
The 2012 Lan Rioja Gran Reserva is our second Spanish representative this month. 93 points Wine Spectator.
This graceful red offers density and freshness, with the smooth texture carrying cherry, dried currant, licorice, tea and citrus peel flavors. The tannins are well-integrated, with bright acidity.
We are quite pleased with this group, and we hope you will be too. Cheers and thank you!
