Now for the wines…
WINE CLUB TASTING NOTES:
Beginning with the Silver Level, the 2017 Cune Rioja Crianza from Spain received 91 points from Wine Spectator.
“This lively red combines depth with energy. Bright berry and cherry flavors mingle with notes of fresh herb, cocoa and toast, supported by light tannins and crisp acidity.”
Next is the 2019 Vina Robles Arborist from Paso Robles. 93 points Wine Enthusiast:
“This blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Tannat is complex yet easygoing. Dark plum, charred beef and violet aromas drop into a hearty, rich palate of blackberry jam and smoked meat, with herb elements on the finish.”
Now for Gold Level. The 2018 Oak Farm Raffaele from Lodi is a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, Cab and Petit Verdot.
The nose delivers a warm melange of plum, raspberry, cherry, toasty oak and hints of chocolate and violets. All that follows through on the palate, in the winery’s signature style of ripe fruit, integrated oak, solid structure and friendly approachability.
The 2018 Oak Farm Petit Verdot completes the picture for July.
This easy-to-love Lodi red bursts with aromas and flavors of blueberry pie and vanilla, along with hints of sweet tobacco and chocolate with a definite oak presence. The wine is chewy with palate-gripping tannins, offering a nice long finish.
We’re excited about these bottles; we think you will be too. Cheers and thank you so much!
