Let’s jump right into it; here are the facts:
Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to
taste all 4 Club wines for free, falls on Tuesday,
April 4th, from 5-9.
The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Jen Suntrup.
Congratulations, Jen!
Now here are the Silver wines. First up is the 2014
JR Eppler Old Vine Rouge from California.
Dark in the glass and dense on the nose, this is
loaded with ripe flavors of boysenberry, blackberry,
black cherry, and cassis, with vanilla and spice
notes chiming in. This is just a mouthful of easy
drinking juiciness.
Silver #2 is the 2014 Double Canyon Cabernet from
Washington’s Horse Heaven Hills appellation. 91
points Wine Enthusiast:
“Wood spice, herb, tangerine peel and blue and black
fruit aromas are followed by a fresh, flavorful palate.
The grip of the tannins makes the variety unmistakable
and the balance is spot on.”
Now Gold. The 2013 Castello dei Rampolla Chianti
Classico brought home a 93 point score from
Wine Spectator:
“A rich core of cherry, black currant and violet sits apart
from the granular tannins in this sinewy red. Has
everything in the right proportions, so give this a year or
so to integrate more fully. Best from 2018 through 2024.”
Finally, we give you the 2014 Beckmen Syrah from
Ballard Canyon. 92 points Vinous:
“Dark, powerful and authoritative. Black cherry, blackberry,
graphite, spice and leather are all nicely pushed forward.
Delineated and vibrant, the 2014 is pristine today and
should drink well for several more years.”
Come and get ’em whenever you want, but be sure
to come taste them on the 4th. Cheers!
