Happy New Year! We are thrilled to kick off another year of good fun and good wines, starting with your January Club Wines. First, a few details:
Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to taste all 4 Club wines for FREE, falls on Tuesday the 7th, any time from 5-9.
The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Colleen Saunders. Congratulations!
Now then, here are the Silver Level wines:
The 2016 Tenuta Arceno Chianti Classico comes of course from Tuscany, Italy. Aromas of blackberries, blueberries and lavender follow through to a full body with fine, firm, and silky tannins. Notes of cedar and orange peel on the finish give the wine energy.
The 2016 Mignanelli Pinot Noir hails from Oregon’s Eola-Amity Hills sub-appellation of the Willamette Valley. Incredibly approachable, it delivers cherry, strawberry, cola, floral, light earth, and vanilla tones.
Now for the Gold Level wines. Check these out:
The first is another Oregon Pinot, the 2015 Andrew Rich “Volcanic” Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley. The wine shows dense textured seams of black cherry, with notes of Kahlua and granite minerality. Showing tight tannins now, it will age well and will certainly reward decanting.
Finally, we have the 2016 Bodega de Edgar Tempranillo, a small production wine from the Central Coast that jumps from the glass with notes of red berries, roasted coffee beans, leather and hints of tobacco. This smooth drinking wine builds mid-palate with fine tannins and acidity that gives the wine an enjoyable freshness.
We’re fans of these wines and think you will be too. Thank you, and cheers!!
