Summer is here, and we have some fabulous
wines to help you enjoy it! Four of those, of course,
are your Silver and Gold level Club wines, and
we’ll get to those in a moment.
Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to
taste all 4 Club wines for free, falls on Wednesday,
July 5th, from 5-9.
The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Rebecca Lane.
Congratulations, Rebecca!
These are the Silver wines. The 2014 Aia Vecchia
Lagone hails from Tuscany:
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet
Franc, it is dry, structured and elegant with flavors of plum,
ripe cherries, wild berries and a hint of spice, followed by
a lengthy and smooth finish that begs for food.
Silver #2 is the 2014 Tapiz Malbec from Argentina’s
Mendoza region. This got a 95 point score (WOW!)
from James Suckling:
“A solid wine with blackberry and black pepper character.
Full body, chewy tannins and a fresh and cool finish.
So polished and beautiful.”
Check out the Goldies. The 2014 Hanna Cabernet
Sauvignon is from Alexander Valley:
A blend of 77% Cab, 17% Malbec and 6% Merlot, it
shows off aromas of black cherry, toasted vanilla bean,
anise and coconut. In the mouth it is full of soft extract
with cocoa, blackberry, blueberry and cola flavors.
Last up is the 2013 Gramercy Cellars Syrah from
Washington’s Columbia Valley, 93 points Wine Enthusiast:
“It is perfumed and leads with aromas of violets, dried herbs,
olive and earth, with raspberry notes emerging over time.
The palate is all about texture and elegance, while lingering
on the finish.”
Mighty fine stuff, we think you’ll agree. Have a most excellent
month of July; we hope to see you around!
