A new month means new wines, and we’ve got delicious ones ready for you!
A word about them in a moment. First, a bit of news:
Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to taste all 4 Club wines
for FREE, falls on Tuesday June 5th, any time from 5-9.
The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Danielle Orr. Congratulations!
As for your 2nd Quarter STOCK UP DAYS, that happens on the second
weekend in June, i.e. the 9th and 10th. You get 10% off everything in the
shop, so come on in and, you know, stock up!
Now here are your wines, Silver Level first. The 2014 Maquis Cabernet
from Chile’s Colchagua Valley got this 93 point note from James Suckling:
“A very serious Cabernet with blackberry and currant character. Hints of vanilla.
Full body and chewy tannins. I like the balance and freshness.”
Silver #2 is the 2016 La Planta Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero.
It offers high aromatic intensity and a range of red fruits, such as raspberry and
cherry, as well as hints of cocoa, coffee and toast – all elements that follow
through on the fresh, elegant palate.
Gold Level wines next. The 2015 Arzuaga Crianza is another Tempranillo
from Ribera del Duero, where the grape is called Tinto Fino.
This is a beautiful wine from a stellar producer, showing tremendous
aromatic and flavor complexity, including ripe red fruits, spices, oak
influence, a balsamic note, and terrific structure.
Finally, the 2012 Coquerel Petite Sirah hails from Calistoga in Napa Valley.
This is a big wine, aged for 26 months in French oak.
The color is nearly black, an indicator of the underlying depth and concentration.
The nose is dark and ripe with tons of fruit and spice. While it is powerful, there is
still a sense of elegance to this wine. Very well made indeed.
We are thrilled as always to make a contribution to your enjoyment of life.
Thank you so much! 🙂
