Welcome to March! So many great wines and
fun events in store for you!
Let’s start with your Pick-up Party, which is your
opportunity to taste all 4 Club wines for free.
It’s Tuesday, March 8th, from 4-9.
The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Michele Kostedt.
Congratulations, Michele!
Okay, now for the wines. Silver #1 is the 2013 Talbott
Kali Hart Pinot Noir from Monterey.
It offers bright fruit aromas of cranberry, currant and plum,
as well as hints of vanilla. The crisp red fruit flavors continue
on the palate, where they are accentuated by soft, smooth
tannins. The finish is long with lush fruit and and French oak.
Silver #2 is the 2012 Tolosa Cabernet Sauvignon from
Paso Robles.
Extremely well balanced at 13.6% alcohol, it shows
aromas and flavors of blackberry, blackcurrant, spice,
toasty oak, vanilla, and cassis. For sure a very well made
Cab at a surprisingly low price.
Gold level next. First up is the 2013 Croze Cabernet
Sauvignon from Oakville, Napa Valley. It is 100% Cab,
with the fruit coming from the famed Money Road
Vineyard, source of some of Napa’s finest Cabernets.
The aromas are reminiscent of an early morning stroll
through a briary blackberry patch with hints of tobacco
and plum. On the finish there are spice notes of licorice
and anise with a subtle cigar box charm followed by
cocoa powder tannins. This is approachable now, but
will age gracefully for many years.
Gold #2 is the 2014 Daniel Cohn Cabernet Sauvignon
from California’s North Coast appellation.
This is a rich, velvety wine, with big flavors of plum, dark berry,
smoke and earth. Well integrated tannins and acid form the
underlying structure for the fruit, and the finish is long and satisfying.
Come see us on Tuesday, 3/8/16, to taste all four of
these delicious wines.
Cheers, and have a great month!!
