Wine Club Newsletter Nov ’15

Hello, and welcome to the Holiday Season!

Your Pick-up Party is Wednesday, 11/4. Come on in
and taste all Club wines, any time from 4-9.

Your 4th Quarter STOCK-UP DAYS are Saturday and
Sunday, 11/28-29. You get a nice 10% discount off
our already great prices, so this is a great time to stock
up for the holidays!

Our monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Denise Stephenson. Denise,
you get to pick any past or present Silver level wine. Yay!

Okay, time for the wines. Silver #1 is the 2013 Broadside
Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles

This delectable wine offers bright cherry and cassis, followed
by savory bay leaf and espresso notes. Rich fruit drives the
palate, balanced with subtle spice and minerality, and the
structure to hold it all together through the drying finish.

Silver #2 is the 2012 Kaiken Cabernet Blend from Argentina.
This has 12% Malbec and 8% Petit Verdot. James Suckling
gave this 93 points and said this:

“This is beautiful and sexy with lots of dark fruits, dark chocolate
and hints of vanilla bean. Cappuccino too. There’s lots of new
wood showing but it’s integrated and delicious.”

Now let’s go for the Gold! #1 is the brand new vintage, the 2014,
of that famous red blend called The Prisoner.

The wine is a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah,
Petite Sirah and Charbono. The wine features enticing aromas
of bing cherry, espresso, and roasted fig. Persistent flavors of
ripe raspberry, pomegranate and wild berry linger harmoniously
for a smooth and luscious finish.

Gold #2 is the 2012 Two Hands “Angels’ Share” Shiraz from
McLaren Vale in Australia. 92 points Wine Spectator:

“Dark and dense in color, opening a bit in texture, with grippy
tannins wound around a solid core of blackberry and red plum
flavors, lingering on the expressive finish. Drink now through 2020.”
