Here’s everything you need to know about your
Wine Club membership this month!

Your Pick-up Party, which is your opportunity to
taste all 4 Club wines for free, falls on Wednesday,
October 5th, from 4-9.

Your 4th Quarter Stock Up Days (10% off everything
in the shop) fall on the second weekend in November,
the 12th and 13th. This is a great opportunity to stock
up on wine for the holidays!

The monthly BOTTLE WINNER is Georgia Schneider.
Congratulations!

Now here are the Silver wines. First is a deliciious
Valpolicella, the 2015 from Allegrini.

This blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara offers
a fragrant nose filled with red fruit and aromatic herbs,
and the wine’s flavors echo the nose, led by prominent
notes of cherries with fresh hints of pepper and more
herbs. This young wine is distinctly lively and playful on
the palate, while maintaining great elegance and finesse.

Silver #2 is a super fun red blend from El Dorado
county, the 2014 Smithereens Red. It’s a classic
Rhone-style wine, made from Grenache, Mourvedre,
Counoise and Syrah.

It shows bright red fruit on the nose with integrated oak.
It’s fresh on the palate, with ripe cherry and redcurrant,
a touch of cranberry, some spice and bubble gum.
Moderate tannins offer just enough structure.

Gold level next. First we have the 2012 Bink Merlot
from the Yorkville Highlands in Mendocino, with the
grapes grown at an elevation of 3000 feet!

Ripe blackcurrant aromas combine with purple plum,
oak, vanilla, subtle herbs and mint. It’s rich on the palate,
with plenty of dark fruit, and oak notes playing a supporting
role very well. This is really good, and will appeal to Cab lovers.

Gold #2 is the 2012 Koonara Angel’s Peak Shiraz from
Coonawarra.

This is a beauty. Ripe dark fruit plus notes of chocolate,
toast and coconut decorate the nose and palate, with
big tannins offering plenty of grip. This is a big,
impactful wine that shows terrific integration.
