We are BRINGING IT this October, with a great new batch of Club Wines for you!
We’ll get to the wines in a sec; first, a little housekeeping.
The Pick-up Party – when you (plus your spouse or significant other) get to taste
all four wines for free – falls on Tuesday, October 1st.
The monthly winner winner chicken dinner of a free bottle is Scott Palka. Congratulations!
All righty then, here are your wines, beginning with Silver level:
The 2014 Brassfield Eruption is a killer red blend from Lake County, and it combines
Malbec, Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Mourvedre.
The wine brims with ripe blackberry, raspberry, plum, and blueberry flavors,
accented by spice and held together by impressive tannic structure
Next is a terrific value in Oregon Pinot Noir, the 2016 Voix de la Vigne
(French for “voice of the vine”) from Willamette Valley.
The complex aromas include black cherry, clove, leather, and citrus peel.
On the palate, supple tannins shepherd red and black fruit flavors with savory hints.
Now for the Gold. The 2017 Maison Areion Cabernet is a stunning effort from a
new producer in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The nose shows rich black cherry and cassis, with soft oak and subtle spice. On the palate, nice balance and structure, really all elements working together well. Lots of spice up front for sure, leading to a nice oak-infused array of dark fruit flavors.
Then we close it out with something from a Napa winery called Peju. This is a red
blend called Piccolo, the 2016. It’s Cab, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Malbec, and Merlot,
with dashes of Petite Sirah and Sangiovese.
The wine is vibrant and lively, expressing aromas of cherry, mocha and spice. On the palate, silky tannins showcase flavors of ripe blueberry, raspberry jam and tobacco. Smooth and round at the finish, with a hint of leather.
Good stuff, for sure! Looking forward to sharing these with you! 🙂
